We were retained to sell 1,484 acres of development land located in Cape Coral, Florida, just north of Fort Myers.  

Situation

The land had been owned by a family for generations and had been part of litigation between the family members for over 40 years. The trustee decided that portions of the family’s holdings would have to be liquidated in order to generate cash into the estate.

Strategy

We implemented an international marketing program focusing on builders, as well as high net-worth individuals and family office-type hedge funds, looking to buy and hold a significant piece of property with long-term upside potential. 

Results

The process resulted in the successful sale of the site to a joint venture between a Florida developer and a New York hedge fund. The attorneys involved said they would hire us again once they are ready to sell the rest of the estate’s land.
